Would hearing me sing the Habanera from Bizet's Carmen make your day better?

If so, go here.

Cheers, Dolly! I've also been meaning to say a huge THANK YOU to you for being such a good sport at Ellesmere. I hope my molestations caused no lasting damage or offence?

You know, I never have heard you sing - not once. It's beautiful - I only hope one day I get to hear it in person.

See you tomorrow, and thank you. For everything.

Thank you, my dear. I'm looking forward to hanging out with you tomorrow. There will be tea, shiny objects, and other excellent pastimes.

Musica splendida da una bella signora.

It did make my day and your control warrants certainly more than the usual accompanying pianist.

Grazie, carissima. I kind of see this aria as Carmen walking a tightrope: she knows from experience that if she falls in love there will be consequences, but every time she glances down the view is awfully enticing, and her knees are starting to shake...

A universal sentiment to anyone who's loved and lost and thought about loving again.

As you know, I'm not huge for opera. Nothing against it, but no experience of it.

That sent tickles down my spine. Thankyou. And I love the description of what she's saying.

Thank you!! I am privileged to know I may tickle your spine from hundreds of miles away.

I think too many people see this song as "Come and get me boys." It's much more honest, I think, to sing it as "Stay away, boys. I'm bad news. Especially you, the attractive one..."
