Green crack

Tonight
speedlimeand I have been making holly cookies. To further the cause of disgusting unhealthiness, I will post the recipe.
These cookies are convenient because they require a stove but no oven. They're a variation on the Rice-Krispy-treat theme, and often end up looking more like big green amoebas than leaves of holly. Speedy took a bunch of them to work last Christmas; initial cries of "What are those?! They look absolutely disgusting!" gave way to crunching noises and pleas for more.
HOLLY COOKIES
1 stick (4 oz.) butter
35 large white marshmallows
1 teaspoon green food coloring
1 teaspoon vanilla
4 cups cornflakes
1 container Red Hots (little round cinnamon thingies)
Melt butter in large saucepan; add marshmallows. When those are melted, turn off heat and stir in vanilla and green food coloring.
Add cornflakes and toss quickly to coat with green goo.
Drop little clusters of gooey cornflakes onto waxed paper. Stick a couple of Red Hots onto each cluster to represent berries. Leave to cool.
Eat one. Wait for addiction to develop. Eat more.
Happy holidays!
