On the way home this eve, I made the ladies in the art shop laugh their posh little buns off by taking my Rich Burlew sketch in to be framed.
Rich Burlew, for those who don't know, draws one of my favourite webcomics: The Order of the Stick. Basically, it's about a band of D&D characters having silly adventures-- but you don't have to be a gamer to enjoy it. (Though if you spent any portion of your high school years rolling D20s, it will speak to that dark, dripping corner of your brain.)
speedlime met Burlew at Origins, the big gaming convention which happens every year in Columbus, Ohio, and got him to draw a sketch (in crayon) of her and me standing on top of a pile of dead orcs. I love it. But the ladies in the framing shop loved it more.
Also tonight, I made the Charity Shop Find To End All Charity Shop Finds. I'm hoping to get
pvcdiva over here with her camera to help me blog it. Oh yeah.
