In fact... here's a good one... why not do a column on 60s sci fi clothing? I think some of those were quite 'out there' or just plain ridiculous. Then you have the best of both worlds - sci-fi and fashion (well... does 60s sci-fi outfits fall under fashion?)

60s sci-fi series had rather interesting outfits. Buck Rogers had quite a few interesting ones, and there's possibly the original Star Trek series. Flash Gordon (film) had some extravagent outfits on the ladies. Not sure how you can inject the humour in though, although some of them were just downright silly.

Actually... scrap Buck.. that was late 70s, although the outfits were still rather interesting and weird..

Yeah, the old Star Trek had some great costumes... basically anything meant to look futuristic or alien was extremely silly, especially (as you say) the women's outfits. Steel bikinis ahoy!

I wonder how comfy one of those would be... would be fun trying... although I do prefer one piece swimsuits. Just don't lock me in it!!

The original Batman TV series had some curious outfits but not to the extent of Trek...although speaking of Trek, half the costumes in all the series were quite weird.
