Okay, kid. I gotta admit you got promise. The hailstones were a nice touch, real old school stuff, very Biblical. And you got a natural gift for thunder. Problem is, kid, you got no restraint, know what I'm sayin'? Once you've given 'em the hail and the lightning and the earsplittin' boom, where do you go from there? All you can do is drizzle on 'em for the next few hours, and that is where you lose your audience. Restraint's what gets you respect, keeps 'em guessing, wonderin' "what's he gonna do next?" Restraint's the mark of a pro, and you ain't got it. What you need to do, you need to get some training. Like, you know, spend a few years in India learning from the monsoon. Watch how she does it: she never gives 'em everything. Always keeps something back: she's a lady, and she makes sure they don't forget it. That's why she plays to full houses season after season. If she used up all her rain at once, where'd she be? See what I mean?

Matter of fact, the monsoon's let me know that she's looking for a new opening act for her next tour. Tell you what: I'll write to her, ask her to give you a tryout. If it works out, you can stay for the season, and we'll put you on the books. No, don't thank me: you got a lot of work ahead of you, kid. But keep at it, and one of these days you could be big. Now go on, get outta here. Be seein' you.
