Good karma
Aug. 25th, 2006 08:49 pmA lot of random good things have been happening lately.
The day before yesterday was when it started: I was exiting a Tube station, asked an employee for directions, and he walked with me all the way up to street level to point out the correct street. Then I randomly ran into a friend from university whom I hadn't seen in years-- and twenty minutes later we were drinking coffee and talking about vampire porn. (Go, Chloƫ!) Then, during a rainstorm, a man with a broad umbrella offered to walk with me-- in a non-skeezy way. Cool, eh? And then I got home to find that
pvcdiva is making me a truly amazing corset. Seeing the photos brought me near tears, in a good way.
Yesterday, I took the train up to Stratford to see my hometown Shakespeare company, who were touring there doing Love's Labour's Lost. It was a really excellent show-- joyful, good music, great costumes and fine, fine acting from my homies. It's a strong company, and a few of the guys I grew up seeing are still in it. The production was set in the 1960s, in India, the philospher lords being rockers who've come there to achieve enlightenment. The Princess and her ladies rode Vespas. Just... awesome. On the train on the way back, I helped an American family escape from an insane shouty woman who was shouting at them. Gotta love the late train.
Today I've been taking it slow... but I did manage to find a swimsuit which doesn't look awful, which for me is a major occurrence. It is so coming to DragonCon. Yeeeha!
Now to punch eyelets into my red corset. Dude.
