Hats! Corsets! salad!
Jun. 22nd, 2006 08:59 pmToday, while Ascot was on, I bade farewell to an old friend: my trusty scarlet corset from Moresca. After 10 years or so of hard wear, it's blown a few too many boning channels, so today I got out the scissors and despatched it humanely.
Its death shall not be in vain, however. I have unpicked the seams and traced a pattern from it, and it shall live again. In cream, I think, to go under my tailcoat for Fledermaus.
For dinner tonight, I made a tomato, feta, watermelon and basil salad. I discovered this salad last summer and although it sounds disgusting, it really works! A splash of olive oil and a dribble of balsamic vinegar... mmmm, tasty.
Update: I stiched the 2 layers of calico together before putting the boning in. More proof, if proof were needed, that I am a n00b.
Pass the damn unpicker already.
