It's not more awesome, but if your mother has more time to spend in Europe, send her to the Museum of Globes in Vienna. It is so fabulous to see a globe from the early 16th C which just shows empty ocean between Russia & Japan, and the West coast of Africa . . . . the cartographer not knowing about America. There are lots of other beautiful globes, from pool-ball size to so huge you'd need a drawing room to put them in and have them look sensible.
