This morning's papers have been saying that she can understand simple requests, like 'move your hand', and respond to them but that the region of the brain that controls speech has taken a lot of damage. Grim stuff!

Yet defiance of the mob, in the service of that which is right, is one of the highest expressions of courage I know.
